Hapilos Entertainment Group is a – a New York City-based company located in the heart of midtown Manhattan with a major office in Kingston, Jamaica. The company consists of 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution, 21st Hapilos Gospel and Hapilos Teens.

Digital Distribution:

21st Hapilos Digital Distribution is the distribution arm of Hapilos Entertainment Group and is the cornerstone on which the company was formed in 2009. Before 21st Hapilos, there were no major digital distributors for Dancehall music, except for VP Records. 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution emerged from the need for an avenue for local music to tap into the international market. The distribution of music was evolving and 21st Hapilos saw digital distribution as the future of music distribution. The company’s goal is to open up markets and help take Reggae and Dancehall music to a place where it has never been taken before while administering the services needed by the clients to facilitate that journey. 21st Hapilos has evolved over the years to include its own record label 21st Hapilos Productions that was established to produce and create quality music and videos.

We provide online distribution as a service and we offer marketing and promotion for the music we distribute. We distribute music on the major online stores; iTunes, Amazon, Google Play, Spotify, Napster, Rhapsody, MTV-URGE along with minor online stores. Our clients benefit from our global brand and our continuous marketing and promotion. Our marketing and promotional services extend from press releases and e-blasts, to featured websites, submitting songs to our extensive radio partners across the globe for airplay, viral ads, Social Media promotion, to our popular Youtube channel “21stHapilosVideos”, Vevo and the 21st Hapilos website www.hapilos21.com. Music videos are distributed and promoted at no extra cost and promotion begins as soon as a release date is provided.

We have expanded our client base significantly to include both artistes and producers located in countries such as Japan, Canada, the United Kingdom, Switzerland, France, Germany and other European nations. Over the last couple of months we have had tremendous growth in African markets such as Kanya, Ghana, South Africa and Malawi.

In 2010, 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution marketed and sold over 130 riddims and tracks. They include: the smash hit Clarks by Vybz Kartel ft Popcaan, Table Fi Table Riddim produced by Romeich, Chan Dizzy’s single Nuh Strange Face produced by Russian, Buju Banton’s Things A Come Up produced by Delly Ranks, Cr203’s Dancehall EFX riddim, Mavado’s Stulla produced by ZJ Chrome, I-Octane’s Cyan Do Wi Nutt’n produced by Russian, Seanizzle’s One Day Riddim and more. Additionally, Beenie Man and Future Fambo’s Rum and Redbull, Khago’s Nah Sell Out, also distributed by 21st/Hapilos Digital, were added to the USA’s Hot 97’s playlist.

In 2011, some of the productions marketed by 21st Hapilos Digital Distribution dominated the airwaves. Such as Over Proof Riddim by Ja Productions, Popcaan’s Only Man She Want, produced by Sounique, the TJ Records-produced Party Shot (Ravin’ Part 2) by Popcaan, Buju Banton’s Set Up The Mic, produced by Young Blood/21st Hapilos, Boomshots Volume 1 by 21st Hapilos and the Cardiac Strings Riddim by Zj Chrome, Ravin Vol. 1.
Now with 4 years of growth under their belt, 21stHapilos Digital Distribution has managed to stay ahead of the competition by catering to their clients on a personal level.

Other branches in Hapilos Entertainment Group include 21st Hapilos Gospel, which is dedicated to the promotion and distribution of Gospel Music; Hapilos Teens that caters specifically to the entertainment needs, lifestyle and development of teens and Hapilos Junior which provides wholesome Entertainment for children aged 4 to 12 in a safe environment.

21st Hapilos Digital Awards

While our Clients are mostly located in Jamaica and the United States, we recognize Jamaica as the home of Reggae and Dancehall and this reflects in the impact the genres have on the country’s culture. However, the real players who helped build this industry have not been given much credit locally throughout the years. It was out of this lack of recognition that the 21st Hapilos Digital Awards was born. The Digital Awards is strictly about giving back, recognizing, thanking and awarding the artists and the producers for their successes and achievements in the global digital market place. The first award was held as part of 21st Hapilos’ Anniversary Celebrations in May 2011 at the Village Blues Bar & Café which erupted with support from Artists such as Tarrus Riley, Bugle, Charley Black, T.O.K, Natalie Storm, Konshens, Denyque and producers such as Rvssian, TJ Records, Cash Flow, Chimney Records, Ward 21 and ZJ Chrome to name a few. The overwhelming support we received encouraged us to make it a yearly event. The Digital Awards has grown from a Producer’s award to include categories such as Top Video, Top Selling Single, Top Riddims, GTA5, Top Reggae Singles and Gospel Recognition Award to name a few. The winners for the Digital Awards are selected from raw sales data and this is what makes the 21st Hapilos Digital Awards different from the others.
